Old National gives $50K to YMCA expansion

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — The Old National Bank Foundation awarded a $50,000 gift to the Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand to help with a 10,000-square-foot expansion of the current facility, located at 131 E. 16th St.

Details of the expansion were not available this morning, but Old National’s press release said the addition is meant to “better serve existing members and program participants, as well as increase the number of participants in Y programs as well as add capacity for additional programming.”

Tri-County YMCA Executive Director Mike Steffe said the project is still in the quiet fundraising phase and that more details are expected after the organization’s board meeting Monday.
