From Local Sources
ODON — A Daviess County woman was killed in a Monday morning crash southwest of Odon.
Pronounced deceased at the scene of the 10:50 a.m. crash at Daviess County roads 600E and 900N was 63-year-old Susan Hert of Odon, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
An investigation found Hert had been southbound on Daviess County Road 600E in a 2008 Ford F-150 when, for an unknown reason, the truck started swerving just north of Daviess County Road 900N. The truck ran off the road and struck an embankment head on, then flipped onto its roof, according to police.
Hert was wearing a seat belt and alcohol and drugs were not believed to have been factors, according to the sheriff’s department.
The Daviess Community Hospital Ambulance Service, Plainville Volunteer Fire Department, Wagler’s Automotive Towing and the Daviess County Coroner’s Office assisted.
