Odon man dies in Daviess County crashAugust 7, 2019

ODON — A Daviess County man was killed and another driver injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning northeast of Odon.
Pronounced deceased at the scene of the 10:15 a.m. accident at Daviess County roads 1225E and 1400N was Lance Parsons, 58, Odon, according to Indiana State Police.
An investigation revealed Parsons was southbound on Daviess County Road 1225E in a 2012 Chevrolet Spark when, for an unknown reason, he drove left of center at a hillcrest 1,700 feet south of Daviess County Road 1400N, according to police.
The Spark collided head-on with a northbound 2005 Pontiac Montana minivan driven by Julie Wintergerst, 48, Odon.
Police said Parsons was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
Wintergerst, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to IU Health Hospital in Bloomington to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Daviess County Coroner’s Office assisted.
