Oblates meeting set for Friday

JASPER — The Benedictine Oblates of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, Jasper Chapter, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the St. Joseph’s Parish Center in Jasper.

Benedictine Oblates seek God through living, working and praying according to the Rule of St. Benedict of Nursia, who lived in fifth-century Italy and who is considered to be the founder of Western Christian monasticism.

Following fellowship and the customary evening prayer of Vespers according to the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Liturgy of the Hours, the chapter will enjoy a conference on the theme of vigilance given by Br. George Rumley, OSB.
