Northwood recognized as high-performing

JASPER — U.S. News & World Report, a leader in rating and assessing different services across the country, has identified Good Samaritan Society’s Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper as a high-performing facility in short-term care, a new category created by U.S. News this year.

U.S. News analyzes data from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to determine a facility’s rating. For its new short-term category, U.S. News rates a facility’s quality of care for patients who stay less than 100 days across nine quality measures. Factors include staffing levels, rate of hospital readmissions, complaints and the amount and quality of physical rehabilitative care.

“We are very honored and blessed to receive this distinction,” said Administrator Diane Jones. “We always want and strive for the best for our residents for whatever level of care they might need.”
