HOLLAND — No injuries were reported after a car-versus-deer collision early Thursday south of Holland.
Shana M. Burger, 30, Huntingburg, was northbound on State Road 161 in a 2018 Toyota Camry when the 12:05 a.m. accident occurred north of County Road 1150S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy said Burger unsuccessfully tried to avoid a collision when a deer entered into her car’s lane of travel on the highway.
The deer was located deceased at the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.
Damage to the Camry, which was driven from the scene, was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
