Nixon receives 4-year scholarship

JASPER — Hannah Nixon, daughter of Terra Bair and Ronald Nixon of Jasper, has been awarded a four-year, $12,000 Hedinger Beverage Distributing Co. Inc. scholarship. The announcement was made by Keith and Anita Hedinger of Hedinger Beverage Distributing Co. Inc. Nixon is a senior at Jasper High School.

The Hedinger Beverage Distributing Co. Inc. scholarships are open to qualified young men and women who are children of full-time employees of Hedinger Beverage Distributing Co. Inc. of Jasper. The scholarship is a four- or two-year grant, payable $1,500 per semester and awarded to recipients who are full-time students at an accredited college or university.

While attending Jasper High School, Nixon was a member of the Jasper track and field team four years and a member of the cross country team two years. She is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland.

Nixon is employed at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center as a certified nursing assistant, Merle Norman and Dairy Queen in Jasper. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville to major in occupational therapy.
