New fitness center to open in JasperDecember 6, 2013
From Herald Staff Reports
JASPER — Anytime Fitness is coming to Jasper.
According to owner Brian Holdsworth of Zionsville, Anytime Fitness will open in early January at 1918 Newton St., across from the Veterans of Foreign Wars post. Memberships are already available.
The building, which formerly housed Championship Martial Arts, has been completely remodeled inside, the parking lot has been improved and exterior lighting has been added.
“We have brand-new equipment from the No. 1 manufacturer worldwide,” said Holdsworth, who has a master’s degree in exercise science and has worked in the fitness field since 1991. He also owns Anytime Fitness clubs in Zionsville, Lebanon and Brownsburg.
Holdsworth ran Community Healthplex Sports Club, a hospital fitness facility in Indianapolis, for eight years before opening his first club.
Fitness on Request, which offers 24-hour group fitness activities, including Zumba, cycling, yoga, Pilates, step, interval training and kickboxing, will be available through the club, along with lifetime membership with Anytime Health, a comprehensive wellness website.
Fitness on Request “is perfect for shift employees that cannot attend regularly scheduled group exercise classes,” Holdsworth said. “And not only does Anytime Health include fitness and exercise tips, it provides assistance with meal planning and diet tracking.”
Anytime Health also provides exercise videos, self-health risk assessment, weight management, disease prevention and employee wellness services and free mobile diet and activity tracking apps.
There are 2,000 Anytime Fitness franchises nationwide, 80 of them in Indiana, according to Holdsworth. Each of the clubs is individually owned and operated.
“We are a family-owned operation. My children — Jocelyn, 10, and Braden, 7 — will be seen regularly cleaning equipment,” he said, adding that his wife, Stacy, works behind the scenes and for Eli Lilly.
Anytime Fitness will open around the clock for members. Staff members will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
Personal training sessions will be available and members will have access to all Anytime Fitness clubs.
