Neukam named Optimist Youth of the Month

HUNTINGBURG — Madyson Neukam, 17, daughter of Paul and Terri Neukam, is the Huntingburg Optimist Youth of the Month for September.

Neukam, a senior at Southridge High School, has been a member of the volleyball and basketball team for four years, and also has been a member of the track and field team. She serves as president and treasurer of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and treasurer of the Spanish Club. She also is a member of the spirit club.   

She was inducted into the National Honor Society and was the recipient of the Richard Luger Distinguished Student Leadership Award. She also has been the recipient of the academic excellence award.

She is a member of Redemption Christian Church and a member of Young Life. She is presently employed at Brew.

Neukam plans to attend Lipscomb University to major in secondary mathematics and minor in Spanish.
