Nellie Olive Medcalf Wetzel, 101, of Buffaloville, IN. died on Sunday October 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Nellie was born June 29, 1920 in Spencer County, IN. to George and Bessie (Bench) Medcalf.
She recieved her education at Newtonville and Graduated from Grandview High School in 1938. In 1943 she married Earl Edwin Wetzel, a farmer of Clay Township and had three sons. Nellie was a homemaker until her children were grown.
She worked for six years at Santa Claus Land and six and a half years as a cook for the senior citizens. Nellie was a wonderful cook, she also enjoyed embroidery, puzzles and reading.
Nellie was preceded in death by Earl, her husband of 45 years in 1988, her brothers Elbert and Bob Medcalf, her sisters Mary Lee Medcalf, Georgia Mae Wilder and Carrie Sullivan, a Daughter in Law Donna Wetzel, a son James Edwin and a granddaughter Lauren Woebkenburg.
Nellie is survived by two Sons George and Gail Wetzel and Bob and Dianna Wetzel, 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service is planned for Wed. Oct 6, at 11 AM CST at the Buffaloville Cemetery.
