Nellie L. Hoffman, 92, Birdseye
August 13, 2020Nellie L. Hoffman, 92 of Birdseye, IN passed away at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at her home.
She was born on June 4, 1928 at home in Eckerty, Indiana to the late Fred and Genevieve (King) Cummings.
Nellie was married to Basil Hoffman who preceded in her death on July 9, 2011.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed visits from her grandkids and reading. She loved gardening, tending to flowers and watching the birds.
Nellie was a member of the Anderson Valley Church for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Hoffman; brothers, Carl “Doc” Cummings and Clarence “Dumpy” Cummings.
Nellie is survived by her sons, Joe (Donna) Hoffman and John (Cindy) Hoffman, both of Birdseye; daughter, Beverly (Larry) Wehr of Birdseye; sister, Mary (Leroy) Ingle of Birdseye; brother, Clyde “Chub” Cummings of Eckerty; 6 grandsons, 6 great-grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at Denbo Funeral Home in English. Burial will follow in Birdseye Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Anderson Valley Church.
