From Local Sources

DUBOIS — Northeast Dubois County School Corporation officials who became aware of a concerning social media post are saying it was investigated Tuesday and found to not constitute a credible threat.

A statement from Superintendent Bill Hochgesang shared with parents states Northeast Dubois school personnel and law enforcement officers were made aware of a concerning social media post late Tuesday evening. The incident was investigated through the night, Hochgesang stated, “and authorities concluded that the student actions did not constitute a credible threat to our students or staff.”

Hochgesang’s statement expressed appreciation for the students and parents who informed officials of the situation and for the quick response and professional investigation by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and the district’s school resource officer.

“The safety of our students is our number one priority and we will continue to take any report seriously,” Hochgesang stated.
