National Day of Prayer is Thursday

National Day of Prayer events will be held at the nation’s capital and across the country, including in Dubois County, on Thursday, May 2.

In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed into law a resolution establishing that the first Thursday in May each year as National Day of Prayer. The Dubois County Commissioners also have issued such a proclamation and have approved the use of county courthouse facilities for an event to be held that evening.

Area pastors, government leaders and residents of Dubois County will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the east lawn of the courthouse property for an hour of music, praise and prayer. Pastors from seven area churches will lead prayers for government leaders, military, courts, schools, families and youth. The public is invited to attend and is asked to bring lawn chairs for seating.
