GRANDVIEW — Indiana State Police have released the names of those involved in a Wednesday domestic incident north of Grandview that left a woman dead and a man hospitalized.
Found deceased at the residence was 64-year-old Linda F. Bowman. Injured at the scene was 52-year-old Alan L. Bennett.
Investigators have determined that Bowman and Bennett had been living together.
Police launched a death investigation after a 12:56 p.m. CT call to the Spencer County 911 Dispatch Center reporting shots fired during an ongoing domestic dispute at 6280 N. Highland Road, Grandview.
State police troopers, Spencer County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Rockport City Police officers responded to the residence where they discovered Bennett requiring immediate medical attention. He was flown via helicopter to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of what police said were serious injuries.
Officers also discovered Bowman at the residence. She was confirmed deceased by Spencer County Coroner Rachel Gentry.
State police detectives and crime scene investigators remained on scene nearly nine hours processing evidence and piecing together the circumstances of this tragedy, police said.
A death notification has been made and an autopsy is planned for today, according to police.
Spencer County Emergency Medical Services, the Chrisney Volunteer Fire Department and the Grandview Volunteer Fire Department also assisted.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
