Heim receives leadership award

Tonya Heim, vice president of patient services and chief nursing officer at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Jasper, was awarded the Myreon Taylor HIV Leadership Award at the Tri-State Alliance’s Mr. Heavensville competition on Nov. 22.
Heim was a founder of the Patoka Valley HIV/AIDS Community Action Group in 1990 and has been a leading advocate for HIV prevention education in southern Indiana.
The charity event benefits the Tri-State Alliance AIDS Holiday Project, which serves over 250 low-income households impacted by HIV/AIDS throughout the region, including Dubois County and its surrounding counties.
