FERDINAND — One motorist was ticketed after a Thursday morning accident at I-64’s westbound off ramp at the Ferdinand exit.
Jay A. Smith, 32, Jeffersonville, was westbound on the off ramp in a 1999 Honda Accord at the time of the 8:15 a.m. mishap, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Police said Smith failed to slow his car when exiting the ramp. The Honda entered the intersection with State Road 162 and collided with a southbound 2004 Honda Odyssey driven by Gail D. Finecy, 70, Santa Claus.
Police said the collision totaled both vehicles. Air bags deployed and both drivers were wearing seat belts and had no apparent injuries, according to police.
An officer cited Smith for failing to yield the right of way.
Wreckers from Berg’s Garage and JAWS assisted.
