Monte Cassino sets May pilgrimagesApril 11, 2019
ST. MEINRAD — Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s pilgrimages to honor the Blessed Mother at the Monte Cassino Shrine have been scheduled for the Sundays in May.
Services begin at 2 p.m. CT. The public is invited.
The pilgrimages begin with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The service ends with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn.
Speakers and topics for the pilgrimages are May 5, Novice Dennis Reyes, OSB, “Oh Mary, Pray for Us”; May 12, Fr. Anthony Vinson, OSB, “Blessed Mary: Mother of God and Mother of the Church”; May 19, Father Meinrad Brune, OSB, “Celebrating the Birthday of Mary, the Mother of Jesus”; and May 26, Brother Jean Fish, OSB, “Mary Whom We See.”
May 19 is also Youth Day at Monte Cassino Shrine. The Knights of Columbus will provide refreshments following the pilgrimage.
The shrine is on State Road 62, one mile east of the archabbey.
