Miss, Pre-Teen Miss pageant is Sunday

HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Herbstfest Miss and Pre-Teen Miss queen pageants are set for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Southridge High School auditorium. Miss Herbstfest 2017 Jenna Brock will crown the 2018 queen.

The Huntingburg Herbstfest will run from Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 27 to 29, at the Huntingburg City Park with the parade to follow at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.

Eight contestants will compete in this year’s Miss Herbstfest contest.

 

Keysha Kieser, 17, is the daughter of Mike Vailes and Carol Vailes of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School and is sponsored by her family.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Louisa Nino, 18, daughter of Primitivo and Judy Nino of Huntingburg, is sponsored by her family. She is a 2018 graduate of Southridge High School and is currently attending Indiana University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Juana Sandoval, 17, a senior at Southridge High School, is the daughter of Lupe and Jennifer Sandoval of Huntingburg. She is sponsored by her family.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ashley Sutton, 17, is the daughter of Brent and Rose Sutton of Huntingburg and a senior at Southridge High School. She plans to attend Vincennes University to study elementary education. She is sponsored by Grounded.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kimberly Martin, 17, sponsored by her family, is the daughter of Abel DeLeon and Sylvia Scales of Huntingburg. She is a senior at Southridge High School and plans to attend Ball State University to study nursing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kira Dewitt, 16, daughter of Andy and Staci Dewitt of Huntingburg, is a sophomore at Southridge High School. She is sponsored by Scott’s Performance Engine Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joscelyn Blanchard, 19, is the daughter of Sheila Blanchard of Huntingburg and is sponsored by her family. She is a 2018 graduate of Southridge High School and is currently attending The Salon Professional Academy where she is studying cosmetology.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chaney Barrett, 16, sponsored by her family, is the daughter of Scott and Carla Barrett of Huntingburg. She is a junior at Southridge High School. She plans to attend Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis to study pre-dental.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Five contestants are entered in this year’s Pre-Teen Miss Herbstfest contest. Pre-Teen Miss Herbstfest 2017 Karly Barnett will crown the queen.

 

Annika Beard, 11, daughter of Jason Beard and Vanessa Jacques of Huntingburg, is a sixth-grade student at Southridge Middle School. She is sponsored by her family. She plans to become a pediatrician or anesthesiologist.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Payton Neier, 13, is an eighth-grade student at Southridge Middle School and is sponsored by The Hummingbird Daycare Ministry. She is the daughter of Brett and Shawn Neier of Holland. Her plans are to join the U.S. Air Force and study photography.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gabrielle McDowell, 13, sponsored by her family, is the daughter of RaShawn and Brittany Curry of Huntingburg. She is an eighth-grade student at Southridge Middle School. She plans to become a cosmetologist or a dental hygienist.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gracie Strasel, 13, is the daughter of James and Latosha Strasel of Huntingburg. She is an eighth-grade student at Southridge Middle School and is sponsored by her family. She plans to become a doctor, surgeon or nurse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kara Schmitt, 11, daughter of Chris and Sarah Schmitt of Holland, is a sixth-grade student at Southridge Middle School. She is sponsored by her family. Her plans are to become a teacher.
