HUNTINGBURG — Police issued a court summons on a pair of misdemeanors after an early morning traffic stop today.
A Huntingburg Police Department officer stopped a Ford passenger car at 2:20 a.m. after allegedly clocking it at 67 mph in the 45 mph zone in the 1900 block of North Main Street.
Police had K-9 Ester conduct an open air sniff during the stop, which resulted in a positive alert at the car’s passenger-side door. A search recovered an empty pill bottle containing marijuana that was tucked into a backpack in the back seat, according to authorities.
Further searching resulted in the recovery of Busch Light beer in the trunk.
Those discoveries led to Griffen Bauer, 19, 6592 N. State Road 545, Dubois, receiving a summons to appear in court on preliminary misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and illegal possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, police reported.
