FERDINAND — One driver was transported for treatment after a minivan-versus-passenger car collision Tuesday evening on Ferdinand’s north side.
Riley Cloe, 25, Petersburg, was northbound on Main Street in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala when the 6 p.m. accident occurred at North Industrial Park Road, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Cloe stopped in traffic to turn west onto Industrial Park Road and, when he did, his car was rear-ended by a 2011 Toyota Sienna driven by Kerri Winkler, 42, of Ferdinand.
Police said Winkler and her two younger sons were not injured. Cloe complained of back pain and was transported by ambulance to be treated at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated and released.
Police said there was significant damage to the front of the Winkler Toyota and all of the vehicle’s air bags deployed. The Cloe Impala also sustained significant damage, police said.
Both vehicles appeared to be total losses. They were taken from the scene by a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker.
The Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted.
