JASPER — A minivan sustained significant damage early Thursday when it slid off an icy county road west of Jasper and struck a guardrail.
Jeannot N. Joinvil, 54, Washington, was southbound on County Road 600W in a 2004 Toyota Sienna when the accident 500 feet south of Division Road occurred just after midnight, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Joinvil told a deputy he lost control of the vehicle on an icy downgrade, with the Sienna traveling left of center and hitting a guardrail.
Damage was estimated to have exceeded $5,000.
