Minivan strikes deer near Holland Junction

HOLLAND — No wrecker was needed after a deer-versus-minivan collision Tuesday evening east of the Holland Junction.

Lori A. Ramsey, 35, Holland, was eastbound on State Road 64 in a 2005 Toyota Sienna when the 6:13 p.m. accident occurred east of County Road 650W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said the Ramsey van was struck by a deer that ran onto the highway from the north. Evidence of the strike was visible on the driver’s side of the Toyota from its front to the rear, according to the sheriff’s department.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
