Minivan drives from collision with deer

JASPER — A minivan was able to be driven from the scene of a Tuesday morning collision with a deer just west of Jasper.

Samantha J. Venderley, 28, Jasper, was northbound on County Road 400W in a 2012 Honda Odyssey when the 8:45 a.m. accident occurred at Shiloh Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said Venderley was unable to avoid a deer that walked onto the roadway.

Damage to the Honda was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
