CELESTINE — A wrecker was needed after a Monday morning minivan-versus-deer collision northeast of Celestine.
Lawana Royer, Dubois, was southbound on State Road 545 in a Dodge Caravan when the 6:37 a.m. accident occurred north of County Road 75N, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the Royer vehicle sustained between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage to its front end after hitting a deer that came onto the roadway.
The deer was initially reported to be down near the highway guardrail but a deputy was unable to locate it once he was at the scene.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
