Milligan new JHS volleyball coach

From Herald Staff Reports

Jasper High School has named Liz Milligan as its new varsity volleyball coach. The hiring was approved at Monday’s Greater Jasper Consolidated School Board meeting.

Milligan, a JHS graduate, served as the head coach of the Wildcat junior varsity squad from 1997 to 2004 and freshman team from 1993 to ’96. Milligan most recently coached teams at Jasper Middle School and Holy Family School.

“She has high expectations for our kids and she understands our rich volleyball tradition and is willing to carry it on,” Jasper athletic director Andy Noblitt said of Milligan.

Milligan replaces Deborah Giesler, who compiled a 118-60 record in five seasons at the helm, while also earning three sectional titles, two regional crowns and two Big Eight Conference championships.
