Melissa Thompson and Philip Greene, both of Huntingburg, were married at 4 p.m. CDT Saturday, June 15, 2013, in Bethel Christian Center in Reo. The Rev. Marvin Greene officiated.
John and Barbara Thompson of Huntingburg and Marvin and Pamela Greene of Santa Claus are parents of the couple.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Chris McConnell.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her parents, chose a strapless, fitted and flared lace gown with beading on the bodice, a laced-up back and a side split with an inset of tulle.
Lavina Schwartz of English was maid of honor. Also attending the bride were Amy Schwinghammer of St. Henry; Kelly Bruneman of Cincinnati, Ohio; Adria Grass of Huntingburg; and Tiffany Scherle of Jasper. Flower girl was Melanie Gogel of Santa Claus. Miniature bridesmaid was Megan Buechler of Huntingburg.
They wore satin gowns with one-shoulder straps and bows with ruched waists.
Mr. Greene chose Heath Harrison of Poseyville as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Greene of Santa Claus, Ben McNair and Jared Thompson of Huntingburg, Jordan Gentry of Lamar and Levi Barnhard of Rockport. Ring bearer was Isaac Gogel of Santa Claus.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Thompson wore an ankle-length gown of chocolate brown satin with a sequined bodice, sheer overlay skirt and a lace, sequined jacket with three-quarter-length sleeves. Mrs. Green wore a sleeveless, ankle-length gown of gold organdy with a gold and brown paisley brocade jacket with short sleeves and an antique gold button.
A reception was held at Riverpark Center in Owensboro, Ky.
The couple is a home in Huntingburg after a honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The bride graduated from Southridge High School, Huntingburg, and attends the University of Evansville, studying mechanical engineering.
Mr. Greene received a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University Southeast and is a financial analyst at MasterBrand Cabinets.
