Melissa L. Philipps, 60, of Dale, passed away at her home on, Monday, July 27, 2020.
Melissa was born August 25, 1959 in Evansville to Bill Montgomery Sr. and Carolyn (St. Clair) Purviance. She married Dennis L. Philipps on July 22, 1988, at Lake Cumberland, Tennessee.
Melissa enjoyed camping, planting flowers and being with friends.
She was an Auxiliary Member of Dale American Legion Post 444.
Melissa is survived by her husband of 32 years, Dennis Philipps of Dale; a daughter, Sarah (John) Mick of Gentryville; two stepchildren, Julie Dicus of Dale and David (Chris) Roush of Ireland; her mother and stepfather, Jim and Carolyn Purviance of Dale; brothers, Jim Purviance and Bill Montgomery, both of Boonville; sisters, Sandy (Mark) Springstun and Patty (Greg) Wilkins, both of Dale; and five grandchildren, Olivia, Ireland, Dakota, Kelsie and Tyler.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Bill Montgomery Sr.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
