Megan Colvin and Jason Wehr of Ireland exchanged wedding vows at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2020. The ceremony was held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland and was officiated by Fr. Joseph F. “Effie” Erbacher.
The bride is the daughter of Neil and Sheila Colvin of Jasper. She is a 2010 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School and a 2014 graduate of Indiana State University. She is now a teacher at Northeast Dubois Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Marvin and Audrey Wehr of Ireland. He is a 2012 graduate of Jasper High School and he earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College. He is currently a union pipefitter with Local 136 in Evansville.
The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Molly Englert, of Jasper. The bride chose as her bridesmaids Brooke Shimko of Newburgh, sister of the groom; Abby Bretz of Holland, cousin of the bride; Celeste Schmitt of Duff, friend of the couple; Lori Merkey of Jasper, friend of the couple; and Jan Beyke of Jasper, friend of the couple. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The best man was Aaron Schmitt of Jasper, friend of the couple. Groomsmen were Matthew Wehr of Jasper, brother of the groom; Eric Wehr of Jasper, brother of the groom; Ryan Shimko of Newburgh, brother-in-law of the groom; Evan Englert of Jasper, brother-in-law of the bride, and Derek Schwenk of Brownsburg, friend of the couple. Ring bearer was Daxton Englert of Jasper, nephew of the bride. Ushers were Ryan Merkel of Jasper and Travis Burton of Jasper, both friends of the couple.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tom Miller, vocalist, and Gloria Bueltel, organist.
A reception was held at the Celestine Community Club with music provided by Boogie Tunes Entertainment.
The couple went on a roadtrip out west to several spots along the way that included Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park.
