Meeting: Jasper Park Board

The Jasper Park Board met Tuesday and:

• Heard that parks staff estimates over 1,000 people visited The Parklands over the weekend. It was opening weekend for the new park.

• Heard that revenues at the Jasper Municipal Pool in June were down about $4,000 due to weather-related closures. The staff expects to make up the losses over the rest of the summer.

• Approved a quote for $40,900 from Pfaff Construction of Jasper for the golf cart path at the eighth hole at Buffalo Trace Golf Course. This is the last path that needs to be done.

• Reviewed the 2019 budget draft. Major purchases include a new trash truck to replace the current 2004 model, some maintenance equipment for The Parklands and a new fairway mower for Buffalo Trace. The fairway mower was cut from the 2018 budget. Park Director Ken Buck must present the budget to the Common Council in August and make any adjustments the council requests.
