Meeting: Jasper Board of Zoning Appeals
December 3, 2020The Jasper Board of Zoning Appeals met Wednesday and:
• Approved a variance for Shawn and Marissa Schmitt to build a storage building on their property at 4227 W. Leprechaun Lane.
• Approved a variance from the city’s Unified Development Ordinance for the Greater Jasper School Building Corporation and the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition to allow social services at a building in a medium density residential zone. The building is at 401 W. Fifth St., which is near the Fifth Street Elementary School in Jasper. Tammy Lampert, executive director of SWICACC, said a portion of the building will be used as a resilience center for SWICACC, which would include a training center and expanded interview rooms. “This was a school that provided a safe haven for children since the '50s, and now we’re gonna be able to do that just in a different manner,” she said.
