Meeting: Jasper Board of Zoning Appeals

The Jasper Board of Zoning Appeals met Wednesday and:

• Approved a variance allowing Hulsman Properties to expand a legal, non-conforming commercial business structure. Located near the intersection of State Road 56 and County Road 450 West, the building addition will be a 30-by-52 extension that will be used for storage.

• Granted a special exception permitting Rhonda Hochgesang, as owner, and Holly Farhar, as petitioner, to open a licensed, in-home child day care at 1438 Jackson St. That property is located in a residential zone and would be used solely for the day care.

• Approved a variance allowing Kerry Newsom to construct an accessory structure within 5 feet of the rear setback at the property at 1600 N. Shiloh Rd. The pole building will be used to store hay and equipment.

• Approved a height variance for Craig and Jennifer Hanneman, allowing a detached garage to be built at 3539 Eagle Point Ct.
