Meeting: Huntingburg Board of Public Works
May 8, 2020The Huntingburg Board of Public Works met Thursday and:
• Approved a $90,650 professional services agreement with Clark Dietz to cover the design, bidding, land acquisition and engineering work for phase one of the western part of First Street now that Community Crossings funding has been approved for the project. Work to be done on the road, from Sycamore Street west to the city’s limit, includes drainage, ditch and asphalt work.
• Agreed to a contract for phase 2 on the First Street project with Clark Dietz. Of that $390,500 contract, $30,000 will be used for preliminary engineering work that will be done at the same time as phase one preliminary work, since the workers will already be on site. The rest of the contract will be approved once funding for phase two work, which includes applying for Community Crossings funding, is secured, Mayor Denny Spinner explained.
• Gave Wastewater Manager Brad Coomer permission to seek quotes for replacing a clay pipe that lies in an area east of Styline Drive between Ninth and 12th streets. OFS is currently working in the field, so it is a good time to replace the pipe, while the field is open, Spinner said.
