Meeting: Dubois County Solid Waste


The Dubois County Solid Waste Management District Board met Monday and:

• Heard that the reopening of the county process center, at 1103 S. 350 W., Jasper, went well. District Director Carla Striegel-Winner said the center took in three to four times more items than normal. The center had been closed since mid-March because of the coronavirus.

• Agreed to let the process center accept credit card payments.

• Heard from Highway Supervisor Steve Berg that a dumpster for oversized household items has been installed at the Ferdinand recycling site. Starting June 1, residents can take those items to the Ferdinand site; the cost will be eight trash stickers or $12.

• Heard that the next meeting will be at 7:40 a.m. Monday, June 15. The board will discuss and plan the district’s 2021 budget.
