Meeting: Dubois County Solid Waste
October 21, 2020The Dubois County Solid Waste Management District Board met Monday and:
• Was reminded that National Prescription Take Back Day will be Saturday. County residents can drop expired, unused and unwanted pharmaceuticals between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Holland Fire Station, 504 Main St., Celestine Fire Station, 6964 E. State Road 164, and the Indiana State Police Jasper Post, 2209 Newton St. It will be a drive-thru service, with volunteers going to vehicles to get the medications and conduct a short survey. Everyone is asked to wear masks. Pharmaceuticals can always be dropped off at the Huntingburg Police Station, 503 E. First St., and the Jasper Police Station, 309 E. Sixth St.
• Learned that the state has canceled its community recycling grant program for 2021.
• Heard that its next meeting will be at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in the commissioners/council room on the second floor of the Dubois County Courthouse Annex, 602 Main St., Jasper.
