Meeting: Dubois County Community Corrections

The Dubois County Community Corrections Advisory Board met Tuesday and:

• Heard that the COVID-19 incident at the community corrections center in May has been handled and things are back to normal. The center had to quarantine some participants and make changes so that others would not have to come into the facility. Director Megan Durlauf mentioned that the department’s project income fund, which is funded by fees participants pay, has suffered since the coronavirus pandemic started.

• Approved the department’s proposed 2021 budget and grant applications that must be sent to the Indiana Department of Correction soon. The Dubois County Council will review the department’s budget on Monday, Aug. 10, along with the budgets of all the county departments.

• Set its next meeting for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. The board hopes to meet at its regular location, which is at community corrections, 257 Brucke Strasse, Jasper.
