Meeting: Dubois County Community Corrections

The Dubois County Community Corrections Board met Tuesday and:

• Welcomed Kathy Collins, director of Martin County Community Corrections and southwest district chairperson of the Indiana Association of Community Corrects Act Counties. Collins told the board about her role with the association and told the board how important it is that community corrections facilities work together to express their concerns to the Indiana Department of Correction.

• Heard a presentation about the effectiveness of treatment programs used by community corrections. The information was collected over the last year.

• Approved purchasing 100 mattresses from Norix Furniture of West Chicago, Illinois, for $10,718. The mattresses used at community corrections are the same ones that were purchased when the facility was built in 2004, and are now old and worn out.
