Meeting: Dubois County Airport Authority

The Dubois County Airport Authority met Monday and:

• Reviewed its five-year capital improvement plan, which will be submitted to the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration. The plan’s major project is the ongoing runway extension project, which dominates the authority’s federal funding requests for 2019 through 2022. There are other projects included in the plan, though, such as widening the runway in 2022, the addition of taxiway lighting in 2023 and the construction of a snow removal building in 2024.

• Approved the 2019 salary ordinance for airport employees.

• Agreed to multiple transfers between funds that will assure that the budget is balanced, something that is done at the end of every year. Administrative Assistant Rita Lovell will give the authority board the list of transfers at its next meeting, set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Huntingburg Airport, 2495 W. County Road 900S.

• Heard that the airport is still in negotiations with Kimball International on its lease for the hangar the company uses at the airport. With that, the authority extended Kimball’s lease by a month.
