Meeting: Dubois County Airport Authority
March 11, 2020The Dubois County Airport Authority met Monday and:
• Was reminded of the runway project kickoff event that will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Those attending should park at the airport terminal, 2495 W. 900S; a shuttle will take them to the runway construction site.
• Heard that plans are moving forward with PHI Air Medical to relocate its emergency medical helicopter to the Kimball hangar. Authority member Mike Cummings said the hangar committee has expressed on behalf of the airport authority that PHI should work out a sublease with Kimball.
• Heard that two or three qualified instructors and 10 to 13 students are interested in the new aviation operations program that will be offered through the Patoka Valley & Perry County Career & Technical Cooperative. As part of the dual-credit program, the airport would take up to two interns on any given day, Airport Manager Travis McQueen told the board.
