Meeting: Dubois County Airport Authority

The Dubois County Airport Authority met Monday and:

• Agreed to allow a contract with Woolpert, the engineering firm working on the airport’s runway extension project, to be signed once the $7 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Indiana Department of Transportation is finally approved. The airport is hoping to hear about the grant soon, Airport Manager Travis McQueen said.

• Created a position for a part-time airframe and power plant mechanic at the airport with a pay range of $12 to $38 per hour. If someone is needed, that person would need to be hired by the board, Airport Attorney Phil Schneider said.

• Talked about looking for a second aircraft to purchase, since the one aircraft the airport owns is rented regularly. The authority also plans to review its rental policy for the aircraft.
