JASPER — A McAlister's Deli is in the works for Jasper's north side.
The restaurant — which serves sandwiches, soups, salads, spuds and more — will be located in front of Kohl's on Newton Street, according to David Blackburn with Southern Rock Restaurants. According to the company's website, Southern Rock owns and operates 90 McAlister’s Deli restaurants in Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana.
Blackburn said the restaurant will seat about 120 patrons inside. It will also have a small patio and a pick-up window, in addition to an inside pick-up cabinet, "so the guests can choose many ways to engage with our hand-crafted product for dine-in or convenient for pick-up and delivery," he said.
Southern Rock also owns McAlister's Delis in Vincennes and Bedford.
"We hope to open in October, give or take a couple weeks," Blackburn said of the Jasper location.
