Mater Dei silences Ranger bats

From Herald Staff Reports

Forest Park remained competitive with Class 2A’s top-ranked softball team Saturday, but with the Ranger offense muted and a burst of Evansville Mater Dei runs in the latter innings, there was no catching the Wildcats.

Mater Dei blanked the Rangers 5-0 in Evansville, scoring once in the first inning then opening up the game with two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth. The Wildcats tallied seven hits, including a pair of doubles against Ranger pitcher Ericka Lange, who worked a complete game. Forest Park managed just two singles and committed three errors.

The Rangers return to action today, hosting Providence.
