Mrs. Mary Frances (Merkley) Winkler, 84, of Benton, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton.
She was born on Sunday, May 6, 1934, in Jasper, and was a Nurse’s Aid for Britthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benton. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Mrs. Winkler is survived by her sons, Mark Winkler of Benton, Kentucky, Michael Winkler of Paducah, Kentucky, and Faren Winkler of Jasper; a daughter, Vickie Osborne; four grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Winkler was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cecil Eldred “Buddy” Winkler; a daughter, Iris Winkler; brothers, Charles, Bob and James Merkley; and sisters, Margaret Rush-Very and Louise Pfau. Her parents were the late Edwin and Frances (Eckert) Merkley.
A memorial visitation will be held between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St., Benton, Kentucky.
Inturnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date.
