Mary E. Kortea, 94, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Willow Manor in Vincennes.
She was born February 10,1925 to Riley “Shack” & Emma (Harbison) Fowler in Petersburg.
Mary married Donald Rex Kortea on February 10, 1925. She was a member of the River of Life Church in Petersburg.
Mary is survived by two sons, Donald Robert and Kenneth Dewayne Kortea; four sisters, Pansy L. Smith, Imogen Boker, Norma J. Stafford and Diana Sue Jones; one sister-in-law, Janet Fowler; two foster children, Amy Schmit and Tamara West; six grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Ronald Theodore Kortea.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 7, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Rev. Jim Gidcumb will officiate the services. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg.
Visitation will be on Friday from noon until time of services.
