From Local Sources
HAYSVILLE — A Martin County woman complained of pain after a single-vehicle accident early Saturday east of Haysville.
Deborah J. Dyal, 64, Loogootee, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2008 Kia Rio when the 4:47 a.m. accident occurred 300 feet east of Kellerville Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department said Dyal’s car lost traction as she negotiated a curve. The Kia went into a skid and left the south side of the highway.
The Kia struck a ditch, partially spun and stopped just off the highway.
Dyal was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center after complaining of back pain, according to the sheriff’s department. A hospital spokeswoman said she was treated and released.
Damage to the Kia was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
The Haysville Volunteer Fire Department’s first responders, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and a Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
