Martha M. Miller, 76, Huntingburg, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.
She was born in Jasper on May 9, 1937, to John and Olphia (Krodel) Buchta. She married Daniel “Mack” Miller on Oct. 27, 1956. He died Jan. 9, 2012.
Surviving are four daughters, Idona Schipp and husband Richard of Paducah, Ky., Pam Sickbert and husband Scott of Jasper, Diane Cline and husband Ronnie of Bowling Green, Ky., and Kathy Johannemann and husband David of Ferdinand; a sister, Ann Childs of Woodbridge, Va.; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Clyde Buchta; two sisters, Dorothy Stenftenagel and Louise Keller; and a grandson.
Mrs. Miller worked at Gossards in Huntingburg, was a clerk at Vogler’s Hardware Store in Jasper and was a cafeteria worker for the Southwest Dubois School Corp. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jasper and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2366 Auxiliary.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church in Jasper. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The VFW Post 2366 Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Jasper or the Alzheimer’s Association.
