Mark A. Welp, 63, St. Meinrad
April 27, 2020Mark A. Welp, 63, of St. Meinrad, passed away Friday April 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mark was born May 23, 1956, in Huntingburg to Cyrene and Emma (Hedinger) Welp. He was united in marriage to Eileen Otto on November 13, 1976, in St. Meinrad.
Mark was a member of Saint Martin Of Tours Church in Siberia, and a member of St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 Sons of the Legion. He was a farmer. Mark enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and playing Euchre, and of course his love of farming.
He is survived by hie wife, Eileen; two daughters, Tracy (Jamey) Smock of Dale and Tina (Kevin) Martin of Holland; his farming sidekick and nephew, Joshua Welp of St. Meinrad; five grandchildren, Christian Motteler, Haley Smock, Cheyanne Motteler, Kale Smock and Calista Martin; three brothers, Thomas (Shirley) Welp of Celestine, Eugene (Dolores) Welp of Siberia and John (Michelle) Welp of Loogootee; and two sisters, Mary Ann (Charles) Marx of Lynnville and Monica Welp of Siberia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Welp; and his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
