Marjorie D. Schmidt, 91, Indianapolis, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, in Hooverwood Nursing Home in Indianapolis.
She was born at Jasper on Sept. 7, 1922, to John and Margaret (Wineinger) Yokem. She married John William Schmidt on Jan. 30, 1942. He died June 20, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Easterday and Jane Schmidt of Indianapolis, and a sister, Dixie Pruett of Topeka, Kan.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Schmidt; a sister, Marilyn Phillips; and three brothers, Glenn, Clair “Wimpy” and Billy Gene Yokem.
Mrs. Schmidt enjoyed working crossword puzzles, embroidering, sewing, quilting and playing cards.
Interment in Floral Park in Indianapolis will be private.
Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Home in Indianapolis is in charge of arrangements.
