Margaret M. Eskridge 99, of Newburgh, died Wednesday July 25, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
She was born March 16, 1919, on a farm near Sloan, Iowa, to Edgar Jones and Florence (Sams) Jones Skaggs. She moved from Iowa in May 1928 to Gentryville, and lived there most of her life. Margaret married Victor Eskridge on May 1, 1937, and were married 53 years.
She worked at Briggs during WWII making airplane wings and worked for General Electric for nearly 22 years.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, making quilts and genealogy. She was a devout Christian that loved her family and was a wonderful mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor; a son, Gerald; and a brother Wallace Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Miller; a son Rondal (Linda) Eskridge; a brother, Ulis Jones; two stepsisters, Mary Somers and Ruth Burkett; one granddaughter, Rhonda Miller; two great-grandchildren, Alana (Jared) Tierney and Kyle (Shannon) Stinnett; six great-great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Lisa Hurley and Lee Larson; and two step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nephews Donald (Staci) Jones and Harlan (Myra) Eskridge and nieces Janalee (Phil) Richardson, Pamela Bell, Doris (Jack) Ashley, Betty Ann Logan.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 30, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT at Fuller Funeral Home, Dale.
A Funeral Service is planned for Monday, July 30, 2018, at 2 p.m. CT at Fuller Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Morningside C.P. Church, 8419 Newburgh Road, Evansville, IN. 47715.
