MARENGO — An investigation into a report of possible inappropriate or illegal conduct involving a minor resulted in the arrest Friday evening of a Marengo man.
Michael L. Ransdell, 68, Marengo, was charged in an arrest warrant with a Level 4 felony count of child molestation, according to Indiana State Police.
State police launched an investigation in November after being contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services.
During the investigation, police gained probable cause to believe sexual conduct occurred between Ransdell and a child at an unspecified time during 2018, with the alleged incident occurring at a New Salisbury residence.
Police took Ransdell into custody Friday evening at his residence in Marengo on the active warrant and booked him into the Harrison County Jail.
