JASPER — Authorities have charged two individuals with neglect of a dependent and failure to make a report after an investigation in which a Jasper man had previously been charged with multiple counts of child molesting.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office worked with Child Protective Services on an investigation that found John M. Davis, 52, 257 Brucke Strasse, Jasper, charged with Level 1 felony child molesting and three Level 3 felony counts of child molesting on April 29.
Two of the individuals interviewed during the investigation, Shane M. Phillips, 33, 529 1/2 Main St., Jasper, and Brittney N. Kitchell, 30, 5278 E. Walnut St., Dubois, are listed in court documents as having had care of one or more juveniles involved in the case.
Warrants were issued late last month out of Dubois Circuit Court charging Kitchell and Phillips with Level 6 felony counts of neglect of a dependent and misdemeanor counts of failure to make a report.
Authorities booked Kitchell into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:34 p.m. Saturday on her active warrant. She posted bond a short time later.
Phillips was booked into the security center at 5:09 p.m. Friday on his active warrant and he also posted bond that evening.
